In May 2020, Talk Staff’s Managing Director Gary Parsons spoke with the East Midlands Chamber and to highlight an important challenge that businesses were facing and particularly in the professional services sector – including HR, Payroll and Accountancy.
In the June/July edition of the Business Network Magazine, Gary talks about the role that Talk Staff has played behind the scenes alongside other businesses, playing a vital role in keeping the UK economy moving through the disruption caused by COVID-19.

In the article, Gary highlighted the role of Talk Staff and his important petition (visit https://bit.ly/2zlvjkD) calling on businesses from across the region to stress to Government the importance of this army of unsung business heroes, who are playing a vital role in keeping the economy open during a time of crisis, but are receiving little or no support to do so. He said:
“It’s easy to underestimate the important role that we, and many of the businesses like us that provide such vital support to businesses to help them keep going, are playing at this time.
“It’s not about making profit. It is about being able to stay open and help businesses to navigate their way through the current crisis in the best way possible.
“We provide a wide range of specialist support and consultancy to help businesses with all their people needs, from recruitment and selection and people development, right the way through to outsourced payroll and auto-enrolment.
“At the current time, we are also helping businesses to understand furlough and the funding options available to them, to help them make the right decisions and get themselves in the best position to grow when the economy starts to reopen again.
“But people probably don’t appreciate a lot of the work we do, because it happens behind the scenes but is no less important in ensuring businesses can function effectively and focus on what they do best.”
Alongside others, the article features one of the Top 10 Accountancy firm’s and it’s Managing Partner, Kevin Harris of RSM, who believes that more businesses will be looking at outsourcing key functions like payroll and accountancy in the ‘new normal’. He also said:
“In the current climate, it’s important for businesses to consider the far-reaching impacts of lockdown on their people”
As a member of the East Midlands Chamber (covering Nottingham, Derbyshire & Leicestershire), we’d like to take the opportunity to thank their team for their on-going support. Talk Staff plays an active part in the business community across the region and this further highlights the need to look at outsourcing with trusted businesses – including payroll, hr, recruitment or consultancy services.
